UIDAI’s new guideline for Aadhaar card holders
A brand new UIDAI suggestion advises that Aadhaar customers (who have played Aadhaar card for more than 10 years and their details are not up to date) should change their details similar to ID proof and residential proof.
For the convenience of the user, UIDAI also says that this course can now be completed in each mode – online through the official website and offline at Aadhaar centres.
According to UIDAI’s official claim, “Anyone who has obtained their Aadhaar in the last 10 years and has not updated the data in any subsequent year is being requested to change the document”.
However, UIDAI has not disclosed whether this replacement course is mandatory or not.
It further states, “Updating of ID paperwork and proof of residence is being carried out at a fee of requisite charge. This facility can be availed on the My Aadhaar portal or by visiting the nearest Aadhaar center.
Iris scan, biometric scan and a photo ID are saved in the database as proof.
“Aadhaar quantification has evolved over the last 10 years as a good means of tracking people. Aadhaar numbers are used in various authority packages and companies,” based on the claim.
Apart from this, UIDAI also cautions the customers that data update course is important for all holders to get authorized benefits and avoid any identification or authentication related points.
Further, in August, a circular was issued by the UIDAI stating that “those who will not have the Aadhaar amount or enrollment slip may not be eligible to avail the authority subsidies and benefits”.
The circular was issued by UIDAI to all Ministries and State Governments and targets to tighten Aadhaar guidelines for many people who are misusing special IDs to avail authority schemes and subsidies.
